Showing how you're Slacking on Security

Hey Everyone!

@AllofYou

Well as i said i would be doing some helpful tips on how to make your router more secure against any attacker. This isn’t going to make you CIA hack proof but then again, it won’t be easy to get past. Some of the things that you can implement are MAC address filtering. This takes the physical address that is burned onto your Network card, and allows only packets from and to that NIC to pass through.

Other things we can do to secure your Wifi is to add WEP/WPA2 security. This means that you would have to add a key (or passphrase) to get on your network. WPA2 can be easy to use since it allows for passphrase encoding. So something like your last name would be wonderful for this. Or your pets name, something everyone in your house would know, but someone outside wouldn’t.

These are just two of the numerous things you can do to secure your wireless network from intruders. So when i pickup a Linksys Wirless router up on Tuesday i’ll show you pictures and delaited description on what to do. This isn’t very hard, and can help you sleep at night knowing no one is looking at anything on your network. Or isn’t using your internet.
